I returned to The Megaro after staying there over 10 years ago. I was excited to return as I enjoyed my stay, the hotel and my room back then. Was I excited as previous? Not so much. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice place and all but I was a tad underwhelmed. Maybe I had romanticised my memory of the hotel or had the hotel become a bit tired, overpriced (yes, that could have been due to it being the Easter weekend) and not that special: I still can’t answer that question. It’s in a brilliant location. Lively, busy, tube station close by. I could walk to anything. And I did The breakfast was fantastic in the cafe/restaurant attached to the hotel. Great food. Awesome coffee. Lovely staff. Overall. It was ok. Would I stay at The Megaro again? Probably not considering there are so many options available.

The location is great, you can see St Pancras station in background of one of the hotel photos, it's really just a few minutes walk from there which is where we arrived and only 50 steps from the nearest tube station entrance (I counted). The room for two adults and two teenagers was still comfortable and nicely designed with lighting that actually illuminates. The shower had plenty of rapidly warm water and fluffy towels, there's a mini-bar with free chilled still and sparkling water. The staff were friendly and capable and the WiFi was excellent. The area has plenty of places nearby for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee.

Everything about the hotel and my room was great. My room looked out over the streets in front of Kings Cross and St Pancras train and underground stations....but soundproofing was really good and sounds from outside where minimal and certainly didn't keep me awake. The bed was really comfortable and the amenities were great. There was water and sodas and I think a type of beer in the little fridge. There was a coffee maker and things to make coffee plus cups and glasses. There is room service if you want it. There's a restaurant and a really cool bar downstairs, Hocus Pocus-Alchemy Bar.

This was just a lovely, eccentric hotel - it oozed personality. Don’t be fooled though, everything was top notch quality. The room, bed and layout was perfect. It was well stocked with various beverages - there was even biscotti to enjoy with your coffee. The staff were genuinely super friendly and helpful. My only criticism was the shower. It was challenging switching it on and getting the right settings because you had to lean over a fixed shower door. I thought I’d fall headlong into the bath tub! That aside I’ll stay there every time I’m in London.

Both the hotel and the room were nicely decorated with creative and interesting artworks. The room was very comfortable and clean, it included everything one would need while away from home. The location of the hotel was so central with major public transportation and international stations across the street. Very convenient!
